Wine Review: This midnight purple colored wine from Spain is very good. It is also very Old World styled. It opens with prune, blackberry and licorice bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, juicy, yet has a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is similar to the nose. It features, prune, olive, blackberry and oak. I also detected hints of black cherry, nutmeg and cinnamon. It is pretty complex. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins build up and stick around for quite a while. This wine would pair well with a Languedoc beef stew with red wine, herbs and olives. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is a very intense wine with garnet hue and violet rim. Its aromas are ripe red fruit and berries from the forest with a toasty and spicy background. It is well-balanced and full-bodied. Perfect integration of the tannins of the ageing process in French oak barrels and the balance of the fruit. Very, very long finish. Combines wonderfully with red meats, game, duck, rabbit and the like.
