Wine Review: This ruby colored Brunello di Montalcino opens with a gentle Morello cherry and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with a hint of red raspberry and a touch of rum soaked dry figs. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and elegant. The flavor profile is a mild cherry and faint red plum blend with hints of fine crushed gravel, red licorice laces, pomegranate and bit of cocoa and hazelnut in the aftertaste. The finish is dry and its flavors and refined tannins drift away nicely. This well priced Brunello will be a crowd pleaser. I would pair it with pappardelle with veal ragù. Enjoy - Ken
