Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Mourvèdre based blend from Cantadora opens with black raspberry, topsoil, and plum sauce bouquet hints of graphite and lilac. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and smooth. The flavor profile is stewed plum and blackberry blend with notes of green olive, stony minerality, and green peppercorn. We also detected some hints of blueberry and Special dark chocolate. The finish is dry and its grippy moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The Tasting Panel would swirl or decant this Mourvèdre before painting it with a grilled skirt steak, osso buco, or smoked brisket. Enjoy – KWGTP
