Wine Review: This delightful Tuscan red blend is a deep purple color, with an assertive bouquet of black currant, bay leaf, strawberry, black raspberry, anise, and forest floor aromas. On the palate it is concentrated and very smooth. It is also medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. It displays nice complexity and good balance. There are flavors of black cherry, black plum, cracked black pepper, graphite, and gentle oak with notes of bramble and saline. It closes with big sticky tannins, in a dry, slightly astringent long finish. I recommend a 30 minute decant to settle things down. Then pair this wine with a braised beef stew with root vegetables. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: A blend of international grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes from the estates production parcels, Campo al Mare stands out for its unique style. A great softness and wide flexibility in pairings. Marked by a bright and lively purple red color, the 2021 vintage reveals hints of flowers, red fruit, aromatic herbs and elegant spice notes of milk chocolate and vanilla. Crunchy on the palate, the wine shows silky and plush but never sharp tannins and a pleasant, vinous, harmonious finish.
