Wine Review: Opaque garnet in color, this medium- to full-bodied Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with cedar plank, tamarind, loam and gun powder aromas. It is equally complex on the palate, but not fussy. Black cherry and spiced plum flavors dominate and a ribbon of steeped black tea develops late. The finish is smooth and leaves behind vanilla and chai flavors. This Cab would pair well with a zesty dish like wild boar ragout. - Jeoff
Winemaker Notes: Lot 534 launches with a lovely display of spring flowers paired with ripe, dark blackberry notes and cassis wrapped in toasty mocha oak and just a hint of mint. With a little air, distinctive graphite and forest floor notes add additional complexity. Ripe and seamless on the mid-palate, with rich sappy fruit deftly balanced against velvety tannins in a long, lush, seamless, vanilla-kissed finish.
