Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Riesling and Chenin Blanc blend from Washington State is very good and a steal for $12. It opens with fragrant honey and pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich and pleasantly sweet. But not too sweet. The flavor profile is a ripe pear with notes of honey and ginger. I also detected a hint of minerality and faint pineapple towards the end. The finish remains semi-sweet and it fades away nicely. This wine is appetizer friendly and it would pair well with Great Hill blue cheese with a fig spread on a sliced baguette. It will be a crowd pleaser. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright, citrusy aromas wrapped around notes of banana and orange marmalade. On the palate, what you smell is what you taste, complemented by a yin and yang of Riesling richness and beautifully balanced Chenin Blanc zest. Kiss of residual sugar on the palate, too. As good as any Columbia Valley Riesling project we've ever done.
