Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Malbec from Cameron Hughes is a good value. It opens with an inviting cherry cola bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry with notes black plum and anise. I also detected a hint of oak in the background. The finish is dry and is its acidity, flavors and moderate tannins linger for a bit after the wine is gone. This wine is a good burger wine to be considered at your Fourth of July barbecues. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Lot 275 is deep purple, almost black in color with a beautiful violet edge. Ripe cherry and plum on the nose. Full bodied, dark fruit balanced with a kiss of oak make for a bold and balanced Malbec. As some Malbecs tend to fall flat and flabby, this wine presents great acid and fine-grained tannins for a great mid-palate maintaining a long and luscious finish.
