Wine Review: This light-yellow colored Chardonnay from Cambria is very easy to drink and will be a crowd pleaser. It opens with a toffee, pear and toasted oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty Anjou pear and new oak blend with notes of light lemon verbena. I also detected some hints of almond, butterscotch and chamomile tea mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its flavors quietly drift away. This Chardonnay is food friendly and would pair well with a chicken and wild mushroom ravioli in a light butter cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fresh Granny Smith apples, floral and spice aromas dominate the nose; pink grapefruit, tangerine, citrus blossom, and apple pie flavors are balanced by a bit of wet stone. The oak influence creates a nice mid palate, yet the wine still shows a balanced acidity that carries through the long finish. – Jill Russell, Winemaker
