Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Cambria is very good. It opens with fragrant and attractive blueberry and red raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty mild ripe blackberry with notes of black plum. I also detected hints of oak, blueberry and mild minerality. The finish is dry and its flavors and faint tannins are nicely prolonged. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair well with beef carpaccio. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Benchbreak Pinot Noir is deep, dark purple in color with abundant red fruit and dark berry aromas and flavors. The ever present underlying earthy character compliments its solid tannin structure and long fruity finish. Try our Benchbreak Pinot Noir with mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, truffles, filet mignon, and seared ahi. It also pairs well with cheeses such as Gruyere and Fontina.
