Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Santa Maria Valley opens with a fragrant red currant and black raspberry bouquet with a hint of pomegranate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely coats your mouth and is fruit forward. The flavor profile is a blend of very ripe red plum and black cherry with notes of oak, Oolong tea, and black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This Pinot would pair well with grilled salmon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2012 Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir is deep, dark purple with underlying earthy character that compliments its solid tannin structure. Red fruit and dark berry aromas and flavors carry through to a long fruity finish. Try our Julia's Pinot Noir with mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, truffles, filet mignon, and seared ahi. It also pairs well with cheeses such as Gruyere and Fontina.
