Wine Review: This translucent and light hay colored Chenin Blanc from Calera opens with an inviting green apple and light lychee bouquet with hints of Easter lily, grapefruit pith, and jasmine. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, slightly viscous and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is white nectarine and lime blend with notes of candied ginger and saline. We also detected hints of green apple and yellow grapefruit. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity display very nice length. We would pair this Chenin Blanc with pan-seared bay scallops or with an almond-crusted halibut served with a lemony beurre blanc sauce. Enjoy – KWGTP
