Wine Review: This pale red colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a cranberry and red raspberry bouquet with hints of wet stone and black tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, bright, fresh, and delicate. The flavor profile is gentle red plum and light red raspberry blend with notes of chalky minerality and black tea. We also detected hints of red cherry, cinnamon, and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. We would pair this quaffable Pinot with a strawberry summer salad or with seared tuna. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The famed Chalone Vineyard has produced a sophisticated and vibrant wine with aromas of briar patch, cherry, and a touch of cardamom. On the palate, silky tannins and a refined structure frame flavors of blueberry and strawberry, with a subtle hint of nutmeg adding depth to a lingering finish.
