Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a mild red currant and strawberry bouquet with hints of sandalwood, raspberry, and iris. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, racy, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is stone dust and red currant blend with notes of pomegranate and chalky minerality. We also detected some hints of cinnamon, strawberry, cranberry, and gentle loam. The finish is dry, and its refined and managed dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with Toro sashimi, crispy duck, or sushi. Enjoy – KWGTP
