Wine Review: This gold-colored Chardonnay from Calera with an inviting poached pear and melon bouquet with hints of lemon, gentle oak, tangerine, and chalk dust. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, round, seamless, and elegant. The flavor profile is a chalky minerality, oak and Anjou pear blend with notes of mild pineapple and vanilla. We also detected hints of toasted almond, green apple, and lemon. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chardonnay with baked stuffed lobster and seared scallops. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Grown high on the limestone-rich soils of Mt. Harlan, this beautifully aromatic wine displays enticing layers of green apple, lemon zest, sweet grass, and baked brioche. On the lush, mouthcoating palate hints of tropical fruit, cedar chest, and Key lime emerge, with bright acidity adding to a poised and polished finish.
