Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a funky mushroom, raspberry, and earth bouquet with hints of strawberry, cinnamon, and pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, polished, elegant, and fresh. The flavor profile is red plum and red cherry blend with notes of cola, and chalky minerality. We also found some hints of mushroom, cedar, and dried strawberry towards the end. The finish is dry and its refined tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would just sip this Pinot. With food, we would pair this Pinot with beef carpaccio. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Embodying the depth, character and complexity of Jensen Vineyard’s coveted old vines this stunning wine reveals luxurious aromas of marionberry, black raspberry and white pepper. On the palate, soft, velvety tannins frame flavors of blackberry jam and hints of stone fruit and spice as they build to a rich, mouth-filling finish.
