Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Pinot Noir from Calera with a fragrant red raspberry and wet stone bouquet with a hint Dentyne gum, cherry, and loam. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, zesty, and bright. The flavor profile is stewed red plum and cedar blend with notes of red currant and pomegranate. We also picked up some hints of cinnamon sticks and clove. The finish is dry, and its acidity and dusty tannins are nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with a charcuterie board or with a slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Planted in 1984, at an elevation of 2,200 feet, Mills Vineyard has yielded an effortlessly complex wine that strikes a lovely balance between elegance and energy, with alluring aromas of raspberry, cherry, bramble, and sweet saddle leather. On the palate, lush layers of plum and ripe blackberry are underscored by supple tannins, with a hint of tobacco leaf adding nuance and sophistication to the robust finish.
