Wine Review: This pale garnet colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a fragrant and appealing strawberry and cranberry bouquet with some hints of loam, vanilla, and tar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is round, balanced, and friendly. The flavor profile is an earthy loam and clove blend with notes of black raspberry and charred oak. We also detected hints of black plum and shitake mushroom. The finish is dry, and its flavors and mild tannins linger nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Old-World styled Pinot with coq au vin or Hungarian goulash. Enjoy – KWGTP
