Wine Review: The bright ruby colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a fragrant and inviting pomegranate and red raspberry bouquet with hints of red licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated medium acidity. The flavor profile is a delicious strawberry and wild blueberry blend with notes of red licorice. We also detected hints of cinnamon, black pepper, and cola. The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate tannins are very nicely extended. We would pair this very refined and tasty Pinot Noir with fresh sliced Norwegian salmon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Embodying the poise and power that make the 1975 Pinot Noir plantings at Selleck Vineyard so remarkable, this gorgeous wine begins with luxurious aromas of blackberry, raspberry, and Rainier cherry, along with subtle notes of menthol and petrichor. The generous dark berry layers are echoed on the robust palate, where they mingle with hints of blackberry jam and white pepper, with firm, grippy tannins adding depth and the promise of a long life ahead.
