Wine Review: This white gold colored Chenin Blanc is terrific. It opens with an appealing pear and banana bouquet with hints of lemon zest and grapefruit. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well-balanced and super smooth. The subtle acidity in this wine is uniquely lodged behind its pleasant creaminess. The flavor profile is a tasty mild chalky mineral influenced Anjou pear and mild ginger blend with notes of lemon verbena. I also picked up some hints of sake and white pepper in the background. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This Chenin is very food friendly and would pair nicely with delicate fish dishes. I would choose baked Dover sole with lemon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This radiant wine captures the elegant sophistication of old-vine Chenin Blanc, offering fascinating aromas of Asian pear, lemon zest, beet root and jasmine. On the palate, vibrant acidity adds a poise and structure to viscous flavors of poached pear and orange blossom, with hints of wet river stones contributing complexity to the silky finish.
