Wine Review: This pale ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with a mild musty cherry and cola bouquet with hints of red plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, gentle and smooth. The flavor profile is ripe cherry and red plum blend with notes of strawberry. We also detected hints of vanilla, allspice, and gentle oak mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. The Panel would pair this Pinot with a roasted pheasant with pan juices or pan-seared tuna. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The famed Chalone Vineyard is a cool-climate Pinot Noir. Our 2018 opens with lush dark berry aromatics and sophisticated mineral and spice notes. On the palate, flavors of blackberry, cassis, red cherry and wild strawberry mingle with hints of saddle leather and fresh-cracked black pepper before concluding in a long energetic finish.
