Wine Review: This light red colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a red cherry and Swedish Fish strawberry candy bouquet with a hint of bacon fat. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a strawberry jam with notes of red cherry and red plum. We also detected hints of chalky minerality. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely extended. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with a pork tenderloin and/or chocolate covered strawberries. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: With a northern exposure, Reed is always our last vineyard to ripen, yielding one of our most aromatically complex Pinot Noirs, with sophisticated notes of rhubarb, red raspberry, strawberry, holiday spice, white pepper and wild game. The lovely fruit is echoed on the soft, flowing palate, with seamless tannins adding polish and length to a compelling finish.
