Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a fragrant strawberry and red raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is similar to the nose featuring strawberry and red raspberry flavors with notes of minerality. I also detected hints of tea and plum mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot is food friendly and would pair well with pan seared salmon with mushrooms and spinach. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: On the nose, aromas of ripe red cherry, cedar and black raspberry rise from the glass, followed by hints clove and spice. The palate is silky and generous, with abundant layers of ripe fruit gliding to a vibrant and lingering finish.
