Wine Review: This light yellow colored Viognier from Calera is a very good value. It opens with an orange and honey bouquet with hints of toasted coconut and petrol. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and round. The flavor profile is layered, featuring tasty vanilla and oak influenced apricot with notes of Mandarin orange. I also detected a hint of mango and a dash of white pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. I would pair this very nice Viognier with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli with a light butter cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright aromas of peach, jasmine, honeysuckle and lemon chiffon hint towards the medley of fun flavors in this spunky and enjoyable Viognier… mango, mandarin, fresh green apple, honeydew melon and a faint whisper of Good & Plenty licorice. This wine is flinty, lively and delicious.
