Wine Review: This dark ruby and slightly opaque Pinot Noir from Calera is terrific. It opens with a black plum bouquet with hints of strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a very tasty mineral infused plum with notes of oak. I also detected hints of balsamic and strawberry in the background. The finish is dry and shows very nice length for a Pinot. I would pair this Pinot with a pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A bouquet of candied cherries, sage and flint waft from this brooding, intensely wrapped 2014 Ryan vineyard Pinot Noir. Flavors of red currant, star fruit, blackberry and red plum with low notes of brown Asian spice balance out thick tannins and an intriguing muscular structure. This wine has a very long life ahead.
