Wine Review: This opaque and dark purple Pinot Noir from Harlan is a fruit bomb. It opens with a blackberry and plum bouquet with a hint of raisin. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is extracted blackberry and black raspberry blend with notes of integrated stony minerality and old oak. I also detected hints of boysenberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and dusty tannins are very pronounced and linger and last for quite a while. The wine needs aeration via decanting in the near term. This big and bold Pinot would pair well grilled steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Wafting aromas of bright strawberry and blueberry interweave with a deep, intense, earthy, enchanting palate of black cherry, sassafras and limestone minerality. This wine is big and taut and begs for bold cuisine. The generous tannins are firm yet smooth and continue into a provocative and long finish.
