Wine Review: This bright straw colored Chardonnay from down under was very nice. Chablis like in style. It opens with a fragrant lemon bouquet with hints of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and elegant. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused green apple with notes of stone fruit. I also detected hints of lemon-lime and a touch of pineapple. The finish is dry and quite refreshing for a Chard. I found it to be very food friendly. I would pair it with grilled swordfish. Winemaker Notes: Colour: Vibrant straw yellow in colour. Bouquet: A generous array of fragrant ripe fruits, including spicy melon and grapefruit. Palate: A soft structured palate of white peach, cashews and toasty oak combined with a lemony full body. Finish: Finishing long & fresh on the palate. Serving suggestion: Roasted baby spatchcock stuffed with ricotta and herbs, parpadelle with rabbit and white wine sauce, pumpkin or soft cheeses.
