Wine Review: This translucent and deep red ruby-colored opens with a new leather and black cherry bouquet with hints of strawberry and pencil lead. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, mouthwatering, and a touch zesty. The flavor profile is a tobacco and black cherry blend with notes of cedar, rhubarb, and stony minerality. I also detected hints of strawberry and cinnamon. Its flavors, acidity, and dusty drying tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. I would decant this Nerello for a little while before pairing it with a flat iron streak or steak fajitas. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Gaio Gaio: red wine from young vineyards in contrada Calderara Sottana. Origin from a rigorous "massale" (ancient vineyards) selection of the vines. A big number ungrafted. Fruit & floral, light spicy. Beautiful served into the ice. Dedicated to my daddy (Gaio)
