Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Cakebread is consistently very good. The 2016 vintage opens with a funky strawberry bouquet with hints of lavender and wet straw. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and delicate. The flavor profile is a mild minerality and strawberry blend with notes of cherry and hints of graphite. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Pinot with mushroom risotto or prime rib. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Fragrant aromas of sweet black cherry, raspberry and rose petal introduce the rich, pure fruit of this fresh and lively Pinot Noir. Dense mid-palate flavors of ripe black cherry, red cherry, strawberry and plum, supported by fine, supple tannins, offer a layered complexity and glide into a round, long finish highlighting bright raspberry, cherry and mineral tones. Delicious now, this lovely Pinot Noir will develop additional complexity with another 3-5 years of bottle age.
