Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Cakebread opens with a blueberry and mild strawberry licorice bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is mild black raspberry and blackberry blend with notes of minerality, cola and mild oak. I also detected a hint of black pepper in the end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are controlled and linger nicely. This Pinot would pair well with roasted maple-glazed pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2012 Cakebread Cellars Two Creeks Pinot Noir boasts fragrant red and black cherry, red raspberry, strawberry and rose petal aromas. It has a smooth, mouth-coating texture, velvety tannins and delightfully silky red raspberry, cherry and strawberry flavors that take on a spicy tone in the long, juicy finish. Delicious now, it will age well in bottle for at least five years. Delicious with seared tuna or swordfish, pork or lighter red meats
