Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored wine opens with a fragrant pomegranate bouquet with a hint of red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty fruit forward black raspberry with notes of spice, black pepper, and a touch of oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are sticky and linger for quite sometime. This wine paired well with my Delmonico steak at Grill 23. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Structurally, this wine feels as if it is built on bedrock. It is powerful, deep, intense and brooding. It only hints at the layers of complexity folded into its framework. There are fresh forest pine/menthol, blue fruit and baking spice aromas. Lively acidity gives the palate a harmonious balance, and the tannins go on and on.
