Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Tempranillo from Rioja opens with dark chocolate, black cherry and black currant bouquet with hints of smoke and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied and has medium plus acidity. We also found it to be mouthwatering and satiny. The flavor profile is a cedar and earthy mineral influenced black plum with notes of black raspberry. We also detected hints of black cherry, cocoa and spice notes towards the end. The finish is rather dry and its tannins build-up and stick around for quite a while. We would pair Spanish red wine this with Brazilian beef off the skewer (churrasco) or with a chargrilled butterflied leg of lamb. – Enjoy – Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: The wine is deep garnet in color with bluish hints at the rim. On the nose, interesting aromas of wild berries and licorice merge beautifully with notes of toffee, tobacco leaf and undergrowth from barrel ageing. The palate reveals a wine characterized by its elegance, depth of flavor and fine, velvety tannins. The finish is long and complex. This beautifully balanced wine is perfect for pairing with all types of meat and cured cheeses.
