Wine Review: This cherry red colored Pinot Noir from Byron opens with a fragrant black plum and blackberry jam bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and easy going. The flavor profile is a gentle oak influenced plum with notes of mild minerality, black pepper and a touch of black cherry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and acidity stick around for a while. This Pinot would pair well with braised rabbit with rosemary and mushrooms. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2012 vintage included a very cool winter and spring. These conditions led to being fruitful with small clusters and small berries with flavors of dark berry, cherry, hints of floral and mineral. This is a forward approachable wine that displays the beautiful floral/mineral character typical of Santa Barbara Pinot Noir.
