Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of red raspberry and old oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, savory and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a gentle spiced plum with notes of mild oak and black pepper. I also detected a hint of black cherry. The finish is dry and slightly prolonged. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with a grilled salmon burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2011 vintage included a very warm and dry winter and spring. These conditions led to being fruitful with small clusters and small berries with flavors of dark berry, cherry, hints of floral and mineral. This is a forward approachable wine that displays the beautiful floral/mineral character typical of Santa Barbara Pinot Noir.
