Wine Review: This yellow colored Chard opens with a mild toasted oak and light lemon custard bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, smooth, and creamy. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused gentle unripe pineapple and bread dough combination. There is also a hint of almond to add to its complexity. The finish is dry and some oak notes linger in the aftertaste. Our small group of tasters found this Chard easy to drink and agreed it would be a nice match for chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2007 Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay displays fruit-forward citrus aromas, accented by hints of mineral and brown spice. On the palate, it is richly textured with honey, fig, stone fruit, spice and minerals.
