Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Central Otago in New Zealand opens with a fragrant and attractive strawberry and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of brown sugar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, and juicy. The flavor profile is red plum and loam blend with notes of red raspberry. I also detected hints of cranberry, blood orange and cinnamon. The finish is dry, and its acidity and flavors linger nicely. This Pinot would pair well with a tangy pulled pork sliders. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The First Burn Cottage Moonlight Race Pinot Noir under screwcap delivers you bright florals, red cherry and plum tones that are followed with savory black tea, spice and earth notes. There is a lovely vibrant core to this wine, completed by silky texture and elegant structure persisting in the palate. Cellaring potential to 7 years.
