Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Syrah represents a very nice bargain. It opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of red raspberry and vanilla. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, not overly complex, yet very drinkable. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry with mild hints of red currant, blueberry, and oak. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are controlled and linger for a bit. This Syrah is a nice Angus burger wine. Smother the burger with sautéed mushrooms and provolone. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The inaugural release of Buried Cane Syrah has dark cherry and blackberry spice aromas that open into earthy complexities, with slight cured meat notes. Flavors of cherry and spice lead to silky tannins and a lingering finish. This balanced wine is a great match with grilled meats and Northwest salmon.
