Wine Review: This pitch black colored Syrah from Burgess opens with a blackberry and beef jerky bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a beef jerky and blackberry blend with notes of old oak. I also detected hints of stewed plum and black olive. Finally, some blueberry shows up on day three. I was very impressed with how this wine performed after several days. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and mild tannins drift away nicely. This Syrah is food friendly and would pair perfectly with a beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense blueberry, boysenberry and strawberry aromas. Floral, savory herbs, silky palate with milk chocolate, dark chocolate and vanilla. Supple and juicy.
