Wine Review: This midnight black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Burgess is very good. It opens with blackberry bouquet with a hint of boysenberry and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry with notes of minerality and cassis. I also detected hints of boysenberry as well. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Cab is very food friendly and would pair nicely with a slow-cooked prime rib. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep, dark ruby color. Complex notes of black currants, cassis, violets and savory herbs with a hint of red cherry. Light barrel spice and cedar aromas. Soft and lush mouthfeel, rich texture with subtle and well-integrated tannins. Flavors of black raspberry, dark chocolate, and cherry cola on the finish.
