Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet from Burgess did well with the panel. It opens with a fragrant black cherry and cassis bouquet with hints of menthol. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a cedar and black currant blend with notes of minerality. We also detected hints of Dr. Pepper and plum. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a while. The panel suggested that this Cab would benefit from some additional aging. So put it in the cellar for a bit. If you can’t resist, decant and serve with beef burgundy or Hungarian goulash. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Burgess Cellars' hillside vineyards are on the steep slopes of Howell Mountain. The wine shows off dense Cabernet Sauvignon character accented with vanilla, balancing spices and toasty oak from traditional barrel aging.
