Wine Review: The golden yellow colored Chardonnay from South Africa opens with a ripe pineapple and mahogany wood bouquet with hints of honeydew melon and Bartlett pear. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, lush, dense, and rich. The flavor profile is an oak influenced pear and mango blend with notes of pineapple and chalky minerality. I also detected hints of lemon curd, banana, vanilla yogurt, and almond. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. This very good value Chard would pair well with seared scallops with sweet corn, cream, and bacon. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This pretty Chardonnay offers some elegant citrus characteristics and steely backbone and nice mineral undertones, giving a lingering finish. Well balanced and even appealing to those that sometimes steer clear of Chardonnay.
