Wine Review: This white gold colored Chardonnay is really going to appeal to readers who like oaky-styled Chardonnay. It opens with a fragrant vanilla-oak bouquet with hints of poached pear and caramel. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and rich. The flavor profile like the nose features an oak influenced pear with notes of buttered popcorn. I also detected hints of toffee. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for quite a while. This rich styled Chard would pair well with baked stuffed lobster or a lobster casserole. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The grapes were whole cluster pressed, 100% barrel fermented and completed secondary fermentation. The wine was aged in 30% new French oak for 14 months. It opens with tropical aromas that spring from the glass along with a note of lemon custard pie. Mango and pineapple flavors are layered with baked peaches and creamy vanilla that spreads across the palate. This Chardonnay has bright acidity, a good richness and a long finish.
