Wine Review: This excellent Cabernet is opaque and midnight blue colored. It opens with a fragrant black cherry and menthol bouquet with hints of blackberry liquor and blueberry. Right out of the bottle this wine is initially full bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. However, with a little decanting and air this wine balanced out and develops a nice smooth texture. The flavor profile is a fruit forward black plum with notes of red raspberry. As the wine opens up, blueberry and blackberry flavors emerge. Amongst all the fruit, there is nicely integrated subtle minerality and oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins show nice length to go along with its lasting flavors. This complex Cab is a terrific wine. I would pair it with a filet mignon over the next several years. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2010 Buccella Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied and powerful expression of the best Napa Valley has to offer. Aromas of blueberry, vanilla, fresh boysenberry with hints of dark chocolate and jasmine black tea entice. More structured and dense than the Buccella Merlot, the Cabernet Sauvignon offers lovely black fruits and fresh flavors throughout the palate with notes of graphite, voluptuous tannin and a finish of black cherry and dark chocolate. This wine has the density, coupled with a sense of elegance that promises enjoyment for many years to come.
