Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Barbera from Bruno Rocca opens with a cherry and leather bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and round. The flavor profile is a tart cherry with notes of minerality and oak with hints of black plum and bay leaf. The finish is dry and drifts away nicely. This Barbera is very food friendly and would pair well with many Italian dishes. I would pick veal parmigiana with marinara sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Bright deep garnet red Nose: Very wide and intense scent of ripe fruit (plums, blackberries, cherries and red mulberry). A further whiff reveals walnut cupule, spice (pink pepper) and final hints of toasted almond Flavour: Mouth-filling, warm, savory and harmonic, with a round, gentle and elegant expression
