Wine Review: This almost clear colored Semillon from Australia opens with a mild Anjou pear bouquet with a hint of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, clean, and nicely balanced between its acidity and fruit. The fruit is a tasty mild grapefruit and green apple with notes of lime and gentle minerality. The finish is dry and very refreshing. The panel felt this would be a very nice beach wine. They also suggested paring it with bay scallops with an orange cream sauce and soft cheese. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: As always, a beautiful colour with luminous greens. Distinctive Hunter lemongrass/straw aromas as a young wine. Sweet fruit flavours initially on the palate indicating perfect ripeness. Excellent acid structure, long flavours of lime and apple blossom. Perfect in its youth and a wine that will bottle age gracefully. Food: Asian food, any seafood especially fresh shucked oysters. Drink: Drinking well now but will improve with further bottle age.
