Wine Review: This deep purple Aussie Shiraz opens with a blueberry and smoky oak like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a cedar influenced plum with notes of mild red currant, Dr. Pepper and faint hints of smoked beef in the background. The finish is dry and its fine tannins drift away nicely. While this is not a complex wine, it is tasty and food friendly. I would pair it with barbecue brisket sliders. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Lifted fresh red fruit and spice characters. The colour still a vibrant deep red. Lovely savory, red cherry flavors and fine grained tannin from the perfectly ripe fruit and French oak. The oak takes a background seat due to the use of puncheons and mostly older oak. This is a fine Hunter Valley Shiraz.
