Wine Review: This straw-colored Chardonnay opens with a mild lemon, baked apple, oak, and moist bread dough bouquet with hints of pear. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is rich and bright. The flavor profile is a concentrated Dr. Brown's vanilla cream soda and poached Bartlett pear blend with notes of oak, custard, and Brach's butterscotch candy. I also detected hints of chalky minerality and hazelnut in the after taste. The finish is dry, and its flavors linger and last for a very long time. This Chard is for fans of rich California styled Chard. I would recommend drinking it on its own. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2021 Brioche California Chardonnay is beautifully layered with aromas of ripe stone fruits, tropical fruits, butterscotch, and spices. Hints of peaches, pears, melons, and white flowers waft from the glass. The creamy unctuous mouthfeel is balanced by bright acidity and is followed by a long finish of sweet toasty French oak.
