Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and very dark garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Brandlin opens with a blueberry and black plum bouquet with hints of menthol, dark chocolate, and raisin. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is black plum and tobacco blend with notes of black currant and oolong tea. We also detected hints of graphite and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Henry's Keep blend honors the dedication and meticulous care that Henry Brandlin and his sons invested in cultivating the historic Mount Veeder vineyard and commemorates the few bottles of wine they lovingly crafted for themselves using the finest vineyard parcels. Comprising 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Malbec, and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2021 Henry's Keep showcases a sumptuous bouquet of blue fruits, blackberry, violets, and sandalwood. The expansive palate unfolds with nuanced hints of orange pekoe tea, cacao, and caramel layered over fresh fruit. Supported by silky tannins, the wine offers a luxurious and well-rounded experience.
