Wine Review: We recently had a chance to cover this 2016 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon from Brandlin. It is an inky purple colored wine that opens with a black currant bouquet with hints of clove, cedar, espresso grounds, and Baker's chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. Its really nice mouthfeel is balanced, soft, and lush, and easy drinking. The flavor profile is a red plum and mild stony minerality with notes of cedar and oolong tea. We also detected some hints of spice, cherry, and rhubarb mixed in. The finish is dry, and its refined moderate tannins linger and last for quite some time. The Tasting Panel would drink this Cab in the near term with a New York strip steak or with elk medallions. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 vintage was a near perfect year, producing wines of opulence and intensity. Our 2016 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon offers inky, dark fruit, and a plush mouthfeel while boasting notes of blackberry, mocha, fig, dates and dense black currant fruit accented with hints of nettle, earth and clove.
