Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Shiraz opens with a mild blueberry and black cherry bouquet with a hint of oak in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a fruit forward blueberry with integrated oak throughout. There are also notes of spice, black pepper, and black cherry mixed in as well. The finish is rather dry and its noticeable tannins are quite sticky. This is a heck of a Shiraz for its price point. I would pair this food friendly wine it with an Angus burger with tangy barbecue sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This savory, Rhône-inspired Shiraz is enhanced by the addition of small amounts of Viognier and Mourvedre. It combines juicy flavors of wild berry, black cherry, and brambly fruit with elements of earth, dark chocolate, pepper, and exotic spice. The Viognier component provides a lovely aromatic dimension and a floral freshness on the palate. Pair this lip smacking bottling with grilled or braised meats, game dishes, or roast leg of lamb with Provencal spices.
