Wine Review: This white gold colored Assyrtiko [ah-seer-teeko] from Santorini in Greece opens with a ginger and green apple like bouquet with notes of foxy musk. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, round and has a nice lush mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced ginger and apricot blend with hints of lemon verbena, Chamomile tea and a touch of honey. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Assyrtiko would be ideal with trout with garlic lemon butter herb sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Crystal clear with a pale-yellow color and green hue. Displays aromas of lemon tree flowers, jasmine, hyacinth and fennel. On the palate, there is a citrus fruit flavor profile, featuring lemon skin shavings along with saline and some high acidity. The is a long and warm finish. This wine pairs perfectly with fresh grilled fish.
